Along with shaaring the hobby, this was an opportunity to help folks get started with trains. I had brought the OCSMR flyers with information on Trains for the Holidays. As you can see from the photos, trains took center stage o nthis day.
Here's that lighthouse, and in back you can see an old tin station and tower. |
This little fellow is one of many who was thrilled by the trains. He liked how the passenger cars were lit from the inside. |
As you can see by the speed of that train, I have a reputation at the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders for running them fast. Well, the kids like it.... |
Children go absolutely bananas when they see that trolley doing it's bumper-to-bumper reverse. |
The Silly Blue Locomotive was such a big hit with little ones, simply because they equated it with Thomas the Tank Engine. As you can see, it has no face, but the kids didn't seem to notice. |
Here I am giving some parents directions to a hobby shop that sells O Gauge trains. Many parents liked the big trains, but had no idea where they were sold. Unfortunately, few of the big toy stores carry O gauge trains. |
